The race begins close to the Stadium/Fortezza Medicea in Siena. The primary undulating 14.2km result in the primary gravel sector of simply over 4km, which is immediately and relatively downhill. Sector 2 (4.8km) is a tough phase with a climb that includes a gradient over 10%.
