Niels Vandeputte Dominates Elite Men’s Race from Start to Finish in Sint-Niklaas

Niels Vandeputte (Alpecin-Deceuninck) ruled the overall spherical of the Actual Go collection in Sint-Niklaas on Saturday in northern Belgium, taking a fourth victory of the season to move in conjunction with 10 different podiums.

“Also I had some sickness the two weeks before Worlds, so that was a bit of a disappointment. It feels great to finish off the season with good legs again.”

On a chilly day with shiny sunshine, slippery run-up sections across the lake at Sint-Niklaas and the huge Waasland sand sections supplied demanding situations for the sphere, all apart from for Vandeputte who distanced all challengers at the first lap.

Whilst Vandeputte sailed easily backward and forward across the shore of the lake, Vanthourenhout and Van der Haar made a last effort to safe the overall podium spots with a last lap acceleration. The Dutchman stored sufficient at the straightaway to surge forward of Vanthourenhout for moment position.
