“I would not have minded to move simple to the climb, however like this, it used to be lovely excellent. Florian [Vermeersch] and Rune [Herregodts] within the entrance saved getting me water and cooling me down so it did not make it too laborious an afternoon.
“That’s when Rune pulled off. Two non-climbers left for me in the bunch so they pulled as much as they could. Then I decided to go solo and I didn’t want to be surprised or counter-attacked or anything, so it was better to go at my own pace to the top.”
With Pogačar taking house the full win and Ciccone and Bilbao sealing off the rostrum spots, 3 different jerseys have been left to be passed out following degree 7.
The golf green issues jersey went to double degree winner Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek), whilst Iván Romeo (Movistar) gained the white younger rider’s jersey. The black intermediate sprints jersey used to be gained via Đorđe Đurić (Answer Tech-Vini Fantini).
